Recap day 3
In the first game of the morning, Spain and Poland had an even start, with Poland leading slightly at halftime. Spain caught up in the third quarter and eventually pulled ahead, thanks to strong defense. The game ended in a 43-38 victory for Spain. Despite the loss, Poland secured the top spot in Group A, while Spain, despite the win, finished fourth in Group A.
Austria and the Czech Republic played the second game of the day. The first quarter was evenly matched, with tries being scored alternately. During the second quarter, the Czech Republic began to widen the gap and eventually took a clear 44-59 victory, securing second place in Group B.
The Sweden-Israel game also started evenly. Sweden took a two-goal lead in the second quarter, but Israel managed to tie the game before halftime. At the end of the third quarter, Sweden increased the pressure and fought their way to a 45-39 win, climbing to second place in the group with the victory.
In the last game of the day, Finland faced Italy. Italy took control right from the start and claimed a solid victory with a score of 29-55. Italy won Group B, with Finland finishing fourth in the group.
